``The National Law Center for Homelessness and Poverty reports that over 3 million men, women, and children were homeless over the past year – about 30% of them chronically and the others temporarily. In many cases people are in and out of the homeless system, which includes shelters, hospitals, the streets, and prisons.`` (1)
This is a very sad, but real statistic. An additonal 5 million people are on top of the 3 million. These people make up the lowest of the lower classes. This does not make them slackers, weak, or not human beings. This people are exploited by the capitalistic system. Instead of funding more homeless aid for these people, or increase government spending to have them working, they would sooner waste billions on the war.
``Using a “top-down” calculation based on U.S. budget appropriations, the group estimates the total money spent or allocated comes to about $255 million per day, or a little less than $1.8 billion a week. That figure includes both military and non-military spending on things like reconstruction``(2)
The amount of money can even be broken down further to see how much it costs a year, which i find is much better than finding out how much it is a week. $255 million X 365 days= $93 billion dollars a year is a massive figure that is not exaggerated as you can see. This does not even factor in the cost of life insurance, and wrongful death. This money could also be spent on other important health care, education, and actual crime prevention (Like the people who commit murder inside the country like a stabbing, or drive-by shooting). They would sooner spend it on a war were innocent civilians die everyday in the amount now of 100 per day(3)
What would you do with the money!
